Libraries are great; they provide places for the public to learn, study, and find joy without shelling out piles of cash to purchase all of the books they want to read.
There”s one library in New Mexico that”s improving people”s quality of life just as much as a traditional library, but in a whole new way…
The government building in Dona Ana County has put a small library in their lobby, but instead of books…
Government employees can check out kittens to take back to their desks!
All of the kitties are from the local shelter. Each of them needs a little more attention and handling by humans before they can be adopted into their forever homes.
It might not be the most productive part of employees” work days when the kittens are around…
But it makes the day that much better, and ups the morale of the workplace.
…Not to mention that over 100 of the kittens in this library have won the hearts of the employees, and found their forever homes through the program.
Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes with a little fluff ball to realize that she”s the one thing you need in your life!
Needless to say…
This truly is a win-win situation, and maybe more counties will adopt the program…if you will.

Call me a revolutionary, but I think that this should be mandatory everywhere! The kittens relieve the stress and break up the monotony of the work day, and also find their loving homes in the process…it”s foolproof!
