When paramedic Cameron Hill met Melissa Dohme, he was answering one of the goriest 911 calls in his whole career. She was stabbed by her former boyfriend over 30 times and was lying in a pool of blood.
She almost died…but her unbelievable story had an ending no one expected.
When Cameron met Melissa, she was bloody and bruised after being stabbed by her former boyfriend. She lost so much blood, you couldn”t tell she was a blond.
She spent three weeks at St. Petersburg”s Bayfront Medical Center fighting for her life. She suffered a stroke, level-lined four times, and even had to receive 12 units of blood. Doctors didn”t understand what would occur to her. They were uncertain if she”d ever discuss, smile or walk the way she used to.
… But without the usage of a cane, Melissa walked out after rehabilitation. She returned to St. Petersburg College-Clearwater to become a nurse, inspired by the folks who helped her.
She visited a church in Clearwater, Florida, to discuss her encounter. To her surprise, two of her first responders were present…and one happened to be Cameron.
Since that second, Melissa and Cameron have been inseparable.
As an advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, Melissa was encouraged to throw the first pitch at the Tampa Bay Ray”s match.
When it came time to throw the pitch that was actual, she found something on the game ball. There was a message: “Will you marry me?”
Three years after saving her life, Cameron needed to alter her life again.
Melissa, obviously, said YES.
This very happy couple met under the worst conditions, but now their future is bright and full of love.

What occurred to Melissa is a disaster that no one should ever have to experience. Rather than passing away in a pool of her own blood, though, she discovered an unbelievable future with a kind and heroic guy.
These two are really fortunate.
Everything happens for a reason…and these other wonders will place a grin in your face.
